 About lovesick
This first part of lovesick will take place in Bergen,
Norway. Opening in Bergen Kunsthall - Kunstforening on the 12th of
October, 2001 and closing down the 4th of November. lovesick is an exhition addressing the theme of love in contemporary art. Love is not here understood as something only relating to emotions between men and women. In this exhibition the topic is much more complex, and the observer will discover small narratives dealing with everything from absence and longing to erotica, voyeurism, narcissism, distance, orientation, and more. In other words, itis not the great displays of love that play the principal role in lovesick, but the many small attempts to approach this so loaded concept.
In addition to the exhibition in Bergen Contemporary Art Centres foyer and two rooms, Lovesick will also feature a performance programme for Landmark. Lovesick will furthermore appear in several other locations in Bergen. In the gallery Fisk is found the art of Aurora sandlilje, in gallery temp Grand Royal art will show the exhibition Love Tutorials and in the five Flexibox spaces, different art academy students will show their work.
